Give and Get Gift Swap

Do you remember my pincushion from October's swap at the Portland Modern Quilters Guild meeting? That same night we were given sandwich bags to fill with our favorite fabrics and bring back in November. This is what I came up with...

We returned in November bags in hand, also including name and contact info, all of the bags were dropped in a larger bag and we all reached in and picked one. The assignment was to take it home and over the next month create something, adding only one fabric and any needed notions, to be returned in December. It's such a fun way to all get holiday gifts with our favorite fabrics. Here is the bag I chose...

The fabrics are great so I was excited to make something with them but what?! My fabric donor kindly added her blog address on her tag (I wish I had thought of that) and I discovered she is a knitter which gave me my idea. I have started my project now and so far so good. I'll post the finished piece next week along with whatever I get from my own fabric.
