Quilts for Quakes Survivors

I am not sure if you have heard of Quilts for Quake Survivors they started locally here in Portland by Daniela and Susan but have had participation from all over the US and Canada. After lots of volunteers put together quilts with donated fabrics they sent away 30 quilts to Japan! Now they have some beautiful quilts for sale on the Modern Domestic web store with all proceeds going to Mercy Corps where they also have a fundraising page. I am so happy that one of the quilts is mine! After Modern Relief fell through I had my Sea Glass quilt waiting around at the house with no where to go so I was thrilled when Susan and Daniela said they would be happy to add it to the group.

Please head on over to the site and check it out. Besides my quilt and other yummy ones there are log cabin grab bags for $25 with precut (how great!) strips. Each bag holds enough to make a 25 block quilt top! There is also a great raffle quilt!!
By the way Susan has an amazing book that just came out Modern Log Cabin Quilting. She did a great presentation at the guild meeting on the history of log cabin quilts and I can't wait to get her book.
