Yay it's Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day! Did you win anything last year? This year I am going for it and doing two giveaways one for those of you looking for a handmade item and one to start your sewing out right in 2012.
I'll try to make this short but sweet we have a lot of blogs to go through don't we! For anyone that's new to my blog I started blogging and quilting in 2009 and have been obsessed ever since. I live in Portland OR with my hubby, two kids, two dogs, and now chickens. They sneak their way into my blog occasionally. I also love our Portland Modern Quilt Guild and gluten free baking. Now for the reason you're here....
I love snack mats mug rugs what ever you like to call them! I will be giving away this little one I made along with a coffee cozy to match. I am so into the Tammis Keefe Tribute prints right now.
I'll also be giving away this layer cake of Sweet Pickins! That's 42 10" squares of loveliness for you!
- To enter just leave a comment telling me which you would like to win and what you'll be sewing in the New Year. If you would like to win either one tell me 1st and 2nd choice but if Sweet Pickins or my mug rug isn't your thing give someone else a chance my feelings wont be hurt.
- I love my readers so let me know in a separate comment if you are one for an extra entry.
- For you no reply bloggers please be sure to leave your email address (ie petra(@)gmail(.)com ) in your comment so I can contact you if you win.
- This is open to everyone out there I will ship to you!
- I will leave my giveaway open until 5PM pst on Dec.16th and announce the winners over coffee on the 17th!

What a lovely giveaway! I love Tammis Keefe prints too :-) If I had to choose, I'd go for the fabric please - mum's coming to visit and it would be great to give her such a beautiful layercake to play with whilst she's with me (we like to sew together!)
i love the fabrics.

My bird-loving daughter would love that snack mat. Thanks for the chance, and for participating in giveaway day! In the new year, I'm sure to be sewing some clothes for my daughter, and, I hope, some for me.
How nice! I'd love to win the layer cake. In the new year, I'm afraid I'll be sewing all my unfinished holiday gifts...

What a beautiful layer cake! This year, i plan to finish all my WIP quilts, and hopefully make some little boy pants.. it can't be that hard, right?
oh, the mug rug is delightful - definitely first choice! I'm trying to finish my tree skirt so I can move on to a scrappy quilt in the new year.
Yay! I would love the snack mat! In 2012 I'm hoping to make my son some pants (for real this time...) and design a comfy bib that actually protects his clothes.

Love the charm pack! I will be making quilts for each of my 4 daughters!
Hello Petra,
I love your mug rug and would be happy winning that or the fabric squares. I am new to quilting and am having such fun learning new things. I live in Seattle and will begin following your blog.
In the new year, I want to try my hand at a quilt journal, practicing some FMQ, some embellishment and stretching my creative thinking. Having new and interesting fabric can help me see outside the box!
Happy Holidays to you!
Michelle
I'd really love the mug rug/coffee cozy set. Very cute!
In the new year, I hope to crate a quilt for my best friend with all of our favorite, inspiring movie quotes raw-edge appliqued on it... Just have to find the stamina to get started.
Thanks for the opportunity to participate... Looks like a lot of great stuff, here!

In the new year, I hope to not be sewing but rather *serging* my way through clothes for my kiddos. And quite possibly some curtains for my bedroom. Really? We've only lived here 10 years - why the need for curtains now? Sigh.
I just added you to my reader 'cause I like your style. I like your name, too!

Hi Petra, what a cute fabric you used for the mug rug! That’s what I’d like to win!
I don’t sew per se, but I do cross-stitch. I’m going to finish 2 birth announcements in 2012, actually in the first half of next year. Then I hope to finish a Christmas gift for next Christmas.
Carol (NJ)
that mug rug is TOO cute! i'd love to win it :)
and i'm now following your blog. can't wait to read more!
I would love that mug rug!! It's adorable!
I'd love to win the fabrics so I can be as creative as you. Who are we kidding? I'll need that much fabric to try and try again. I want to make a Christmas tree skirt as a summer wedding gift. And I also want to make a couple of baby quilts for some happily expected wee ones.
b.moews@gmail.com
What a tough choice. I love both, but have a slight preference for the mug rug. I love Tammis Keefe! Thanks for the chance to win.
I love them both! But I adore the fabric so that would be my first choice.
I would love the mug rug and, of course, I hope to be sewing quilts in the new year.
chancyf at gmail d0t com

I love the layer cake, the mug rug is really cute too! I want to try to make a quilt in the upcoming year.
Hi Petra! I'm also a Portland mama and crafter. Nice to meet you! The charm pack is nice. But I'm a tea drinker, especially in the winter, so would love your mug rug. :)
Cute 'mug rug' - I am also LOVING the Tamis Keefe reproductions. My first baby is due this January, so I know that I'll be making lots of clothing/things for this kiddo in the coming years!
I would love to receive either!
I'm planning on sewing/embroidering some wall art - time wiling. I love free hand embroidering fonts.
I would love the snack mat but probably hang it on the wall as art. I'll be making a wall quilt to donate to our local animal APL group.
So hard to choose; they're both wonderful gifts so either would make me very happy!
In the new year, I have BIG plans for a few quilts as well as a jacket and maybe a couple of sock monkeys for fun.
I will be making a quilt for my friend's baby who is due to be born in early 2012. I would love to win either prize - 1st choice would be the layer cake.
I'd love either, though the mug rug would be my first choice. Love the birdcages! Sewing in the new year includes pajama pants for my son and dresses for my daughter.
I'd love to win the layer cake of Sweet Pickins. I'm gathering fabrics to make a farm animal/30's feel sort of quilt, and these would look so great, since they are bright and cheery and floral. Thank you for the giveaway.

They are both lovely, but I really adore the second bundle of fabrics. This year I would love to tackle the single girl quilt!
Hi Petra! The prizes are both gorgeous, I would love either! In the New Year I hope to get a head start on some friend's birthday presents which include a quilt and some cushions.
I would pick the fabric first. In the new year I'll be working on some clothes for my boys and getting my first quilt finished. Thanks for a chance to win! :)
I choose the fabric and I`m hoping to make a quilt.
Love the fabrics but I would choose the mug rug...simply because I don't make thing for myself, but I don't mind KEEPING things for myself. ;0)

I will be trying out hexagons and making a quilt with them in the new year.
I love the layer cake prints! But also the mug rug/snack mat. I have that same Keefe print in my stash. I am planning to make a twin size quilt for my daughter's bed and a train quilt for my nephew in 2012.
Both are nice. I'd choose the snack mat 1st. But the fabric would be great too.
I'm a follower of yours.
I love the fabric first but I also really really love the mug rug! And as to sewing in the new year...I am going to try to use up all that fabric I have stashed away for projects already planned. A lot of historic costuming will happen! :) pemberleycouture@hotmail.com
I love both but those birds are singing a sweet tune to me! I'd like to do some more scrap projects. Small things that will make great gifts....like mug rugs....
nancebagance at yahoo dot ca

I'd love to win the layer cake!
I'm going to make a half square triangle quilt this year - I'm excited.
michaelacking (at) gmail (d0t) com
Both cuties! I choose #1 layer cake, #2 mug rug. My new year will be spent quilting for several lucky babies.
Love the mug rug! As I am sitting at my desk with mug sans rug, it would be well used ; ) As a new quilter, fabric is always welcome!
I REALLY need to cover my dining chairs with new fabric, so that's my new year project. Along with a quilt for our Project Linus Chapter contest, the theme is Rolling Along and it has to include some red tone-on-tone fabric.
i love the first one..its so cute! my only plans to far is make a summer dress with a crocheted top and fabric skirted bottom and id also like to make some mini quilts to decorate my studio raineoc@yahoo.com
The Sweet Pickins layer cake is super cute -- can't believe I haven't seen that line before! Love it. Thanks!
I think I would like the mug rug first and then the fabric. So hard to choose... My list of project I would like to do is very long, but I would put embroidery and a baby quilt at the top of my list.

My birthday is this Saturday, and this would be a wonderful birthday present!

I am going to be sewing this massive king size quilt. I am almost done with the top but then comes the quilting!
Those are both fantastic giveaways! I'd have to choose the layer cake. I love those prints! Thanks so much!!
That fabric is loooovely, I would love to win that. Next year I am going to try to sew 1 Christmas thing every month, starting in January with an Advent calender, then next year I won't be so disappointed that I don't have many hand made Christmas things!
I'm in love with both, but I think I'd have to go with the mug rug!
I'm a new follower of your blog. Love the fall-colors "plus" runner you did a while back, and I look forward to hearing about your chickens. Chickens aren't allowed in the county where I live.
Quick proof-reading: Your "post a comment" section says "Thanks for stoping by" instead of "stopping" with two P's. Just thought I'd let you know.
I would love to win the layer cake! In the new year I'll be finishing my first quilt (the top is almost done, yay!) and making skirts with two gorgeous lengths of fabric a friend just brought back for me from Ghana. Can't wait!
I just started a craft business, going to shows and farmers markets... and I think I want to work on bags and accessories this year! Thanks for a great giveaway!

I'm a follower because of your kindness. Thank you!
I love Sweet Pickin's! I'll be sewing lots of quilts next year.
I love the fabric!
In the new year I'll be sewing pencil cases and swim bags for my kids. I'd love the fabric to make mattresses on a princess and pea quilt for my little girl :)
Fabric.
I want t make some mug rugs and kitchen towels soon!
Hi Petra! Things are busy here in sewing blogland, aren't they! I like both but could probably use the fabric more:). Good luck in the giveaways...if Sewing Summit is any indication, you'll be winning lots!
I love them both so I'd be happy to win either. Thanks for such a great giveaway! My first choice is the fabric (to make mug rugs for myself and loved ones) then the mug rug. Thanks again!
If I win, I would donate the Sweet Pickins fabric to my quilting friend, who makes lap quilts for seniors and children from cross stitched squares for my group called World of Charity Stitching, http://www.worldofcharitystitching.blogspot.com/
We also made tote bags, therapy pillows and other items to give during the holidays, so I might use some of the pieces for the bags that I make.
Thanks,
Peggy

I would take either, but I love the mug rug! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get to do some baby sewing next year, but if not I'm sure I can find some things to make for my 2 yr old!
mindfulhome at gmail dot com
Gosh, I love them both. I truly can't decide--either one would be an absolute treat. The mug rug would be for me, the layer cake would be turned into a charity quilt. So, whichever is left after the other person chose would make me very happy.
In the new year I plan to make table runners to give as birthday gifts throughout the year, and I'm also going to try my hand at machine quilting my own quilts. (I'm starting with quilts for our dogs, who are not picky.)
Both would be great, the mug rug is my first choice!
For 2012 my first priority will be a queen size quilt for my bed made from Anna Maria Horner Voiles. can't wait!
I just started following you!
I love them both, but I'd put the preference at fabric, then mug rug.
I'd love either one, but my first choice would be the fabric. They're beautiful and I need more fabric! I plan to make myself a dress this year from a vintage pattern my boss gave me years ago.
I love the layer cake! I will sew clothes for my kids next year :)
mtrand2 AT gmail dot com
Rug mug!
I hope I'm sewing more outfits for my daughter and buying less for her to wear.
Love the fabric! Thanks!
I'd love the Sweet Pickins fabric.
I hope to make a quilt for my brother, and some tops and jackets(!) for myself in 2012.
I'm a new follower!
Love the charms!
I'm planning to make a new quilt for me! I seem to give all my quilts away...This quilt will be made from Nicey Jane fabric and It is staying right here in my house!
Thanks!
Ooo.. I would love the layer cake. The mug rug is superb too. I'm going to finish my sons quilt and start on a quilt for my sister this coming year! I will!
mamaisaac09(at)gmail(dot)com
Cute fabrics! Thank you for the chance to win one of your prizes. I'd go for the mug mat, I think. :)
In the new year, I'm going to learn how to do English paper piecing. I love seeing hexagons in quilts but they always looked so hard. Sewing them together by hand will be very enjoyable.
Well I'd love that mug rug, those birds are fab, thanks for the chance to win!
In the new year I have projects kind of stacking up - disappearing-ish 9-patch quilt, modern dresden quilt, Ruby and Opal quilt, rainbow paper-pieced windmill cushion, umpteen bee blocks, a Japanese x and + block swap, a ton of pouches and bags... that'll keep me busy a while, huh?
I think both giveaways are lovely (not to mention generous). If you forced me to pick, I'd say the layer cake, because fabric is the gift that keeps on giving! I get not only the fabric but the joy of crafting something. akmajor (at) gmail (dot) com
Thanks for the chance to win -- both the fabric and the mug rug are so great! If I had to pick though I'd pick the mug rug. I love quilting and hope to make another big quilt tomorrow.
