Those chickens have been busy.
I had heard chickens could be loud and I thought, as did my neighbors, that we had quiet chickens. What I didn't read in any book is that when the chickens start laying the noise kicks in. The first few times they laid we thought there was a predator in the yard and went rushing to the coop. It turns out when a chicken pushes one of those eggs out they just need to let everyone know. I imagine they're saying "look what I did!" or "OMG what is happening?!" it's the typical loud brock brock brock noise and we now hear it every morning, luckily not too early!

i know when i had my two kids i squawked pretty loud too! i love fresh eggs, they taste so good!
It's amazing how loud chickens are when they're laying! If I laid an egg practically every single day, I'd announce it, too. Summer is a bit of a problem because they hens are up with the sun...Your eggs look lovely.
I was thinking about the summer and laying earlier, of course we had to put the coop under our bedroom window : )
... some nice looking eggs there! I would do a little announcement too if I laid an egg. ;)
