A Day of Love and Sewing

The Valentines are made and the special family dinner is planned. This year the kids have asked for breakfast for dinner and we decided on quiches. Meringue was requested for dessert it will be an interesting combo. I've never made meringue but I have plenty of recipes pulled out of old Martha Stewart magazines to reference and all the wonderful food blogs out there so I'll figure out something.

Above are the 589 pieces of fabric needed to complete my scrappy x & + quilt. I have a lot of time over the next two days to sew them together but I wonder if that's doable or am I just fooling myself? There's only one way to find out.

I hope you all have a Happy Valentines Day! Ours got off to a rough start, 11 year olds can be grumpy in the morning, but I know the hearts will be flying tonight.

Good luck with your blocks- it took me a while to find my groove with them, but once I did, they started to go quicker. Have fun with your family tonight!
