I got the x & + quilt back from Nancy of Just Quilting who generously offered to quilt it for me for the auction. I just love how it turned out and hopefully with the addition of Nancy's quilting it will raise more money for the school. For the quilting I wanted a circular pattern to contrast the linear quality of the blocks. Our first plan didn't pan out and Nancy came up with these swirly scrolls which look great on the border and travel across the whole quilt. The border is the only fabric I bought just for the quilt it's Vanilla from the new Michael Miller Couture Cotton line. I love how it reads as a really pale yellow rather then cream.
For the backing I decided to use all the flannel I had laying around and I can't believe how well it worked out. If I was buying backing just for this quilt I NEVER would have put these fabrics together. It's Anna Maria Horner except for the orange dots.
For the binding I'm going scrappy to tie in with the blocks. Sadly I'll be saying goodbye to the quilt this Saturday when it's auctioned off sniff.
I love seeing all the February progress in the Scrap Attack this month. Have you visited the Scrap Attack at Stitched in Color yet?

Congratulations. What a total accomplishment! I think the wide border was such a good idea too, just to give a bit of rest to all that movement. Yay!

Love the quilts. I thought I recognized AMH fabrics! Today is the day to leave a comment on your site to enter the Fat Quarter giveaway for Craftsy. Hope I win! Thanks!
I love this! Wow, I would be so sad to give it away, but at least it was for a good cause. The backing works so well with the front scrappiness!
Very nice!! I hope it does well for you in the auction :)
