Blogger's Quilt Festival ~ Scrappy Quilt

It's time for one of my favorite Quilt happenings of the year Amy's Blogger's Quilt Festival. This year I wanted to enter the Scrappy category because I do love my scraps. I made this quilt with the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Festival in mind. I wanted to do something completely improvisational and focusing on low volume with blocks of color. I also made this quilt just for me which is not how I usually work.

The pieced top before quilting.

Another big part of this quilt for me was I quilted it all on my home machine with my new Janome. It was so much fun and I just went crazy with the quilting.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and see my quilt! Pétra

I love your quilt. Well done with the background quilting. It looks like it was fun to do. Personally I think machine quilting can be tedious but what you have done looks fun! Liz

Okay - first of all, I love the improv scrappy piecing. But then you did the scrappy quilting and totally bumped it up a notch! Great work!!!

Pétra, this is just gorgeous! The quilting absolutely makes it - it's scrappy just like the top. Love it all.
