CoCo's Quilt

A quilt for CoCo! This is getting done a little late but it was worth it. If you were reading my blog way back in 2009 I made my 5th quilt for baby Callia and this is for her new sister. Here are the posts for Callia's quilt which was my first quilt with appliqué. I've come a long way since then. I based this quilt off of Elizabeth Hartman's Small Plates pattern from her book The Practical Guide to Patchwork. I've made these Big Plates to accommodate the large butterflies in the center square. My friend Cara said butterflies was a theme. I did have a hard time finding a butterfly print but I love this one.

Starting at the bottom and moving clockwise Briar Rose by Heather Ross, White and Green Strawberries also by Heather Ross, a Dot I can't find the name of, Kaffe Fasset Spot, Pearl Bracelets by Lizzy House, Cocoon by Valori Wells, and Carnaby Street by Pat Bravo.

My friend Melissa of Lunden Designs did the quilting for me on her long arm and I love how it turned out!

We decided on a loop pattern that might resemble the flight of a bee or butterfly and then squares in the center.

For the binding I went stripes again using Dear Stella #47.
I loved making such a fun bright quilt and hope it gets lots of love!!
